Caroline Koysza is a 16-year-old 11th grader at Lucy Beckham High School. She decided to start Illuminate for Good (formerly Illuminate Hibben) in 2020 after sharing luminaries with neighbors on her street in Hibben in December of 2019. She thought it would be a great way to raise money for a worthy charity while spreading holiday cheer in the neighborhood!

After researching organizations in the Charleston area, Caroline chose Lowcountry Orphan Relief to receive profits from her fundraiser. She feels like LOR serves a unique need in the lowcountry, and she hopes to make more people aware of the charity and how it serves our area.

Together, in the first five years of Illuminate for Good, our neighborhood donated $19,190.34 in profits. Caroline has been thrilled with the success year to year, and LOR continues to be grateful for the support!

In her time outside of school, Caroline participates in Key Club, FCA, and robotics club and plays on the tennis team at Lucy Beckham High School.
